Monthly house meetings are held at Khayalethu Youth Centre, (Khayalethu Oliver House have weekly meetings as previously mentioned).  During this time, the boys will delegate one of the older boys to chair the meeting and the agenda is set up and handed in two days prior to the meeting.

Issues discussed on the agenda usually include: More pocket money; more activities; personal grievances aired in a constructive manner and from management side – feedback is usually given of the Public Perception of their behavior if they have been on a outing (Praise or Constructive criticism or even consequences for bad behaviour) In some instances, the boys may be encouraged to vote on an issue under discussion.

All the boys and young men from age 7 to 21 have to attend this meeting. We believe that it is an effective means of communication and an excellent tool to teach them how formal meetings are held, minuted and chaired.
